THREE PATHWAYS

Many ways to come together.

THE NEXT STEP

A first gathering.
An open conversation.

Share food, meet relatives, and explore what a Taíno community in Minnesota could become.

This is a community gathering, not a tribal enrollment event. Nobody will be required to publicly prove or explain their ancestry.

CONTINUITY & BELONGING

We are still here.

Taíno people survived colonization. Our cultures, families, traditions, and communities continue throughout our Caribbean homelands and diaspora.

Taíno people in Minnesota are coming together to determine what our community here will become.

Our roots reach across the Caribbean. Our next chapter begins together.

Colonization devastated Taíno communities, disrupted institutions, suppressed languages and traditions, and attempted to erase Taíno identity. Taíno people continued.

We are gathering with care for our people, our children, and the knowledge we carry forward.

SHAPED BY COMMUNITY

A Taíno community is forming in Minnesota.

This is a beginning, with room to listen and decide together.

01

There is no predetermined government.

02

There is no appointed Kasike.

03

There are no predetermined enrollment requirements.

Those decisions belong to the community.

THERE IS A PLACE FOR YOU HERE

Let’s find one another.

Taíno people in Minnesota: bring your questions, your hopes, and your voice. What comes next belongs to us, together.
